May 25th Panther Weekly Update

Dear Panther Families,

As we head into another sunny weekend, here are a few highlights from the week and upcoming dates. A final Bi-Weekly Curricular Connection will arrive Monday morning.

🌟 This Week at KPES – Assessments & Learning
Congrats to our grade five students for completing the provincial math assessment! This set of questions covers a range of concepts at varying degrees of difficulty across the math curriculum, and wraps-up provincial assessments for the year. While results are not intended for individual reporting purposes, we are so proud of all our grade 4 & 5 panthers for taking the assessments seriously, which showcases academic growth at KPES!

We also continue to see lots of outdoor learning happening, from exploration of linear measurement to artwork that uses natural materials to portray an assortment of emotions. Due to rainy weather earlier this month, later this week our primary classes will participate in outdoor literacy activities led by two district coaches.

🌏 Food Allergy Awareness Month
Food allergy awareness in elementary schools is essential for creating a safe and inclusive environment for all students. Even small amounts of certain foods can trigger serious allergic reactions in some children, making it important for staff, students, and families to understand how to prevent exposure and respond in an emergency. Teaching allergy awareness ensures that every child feels protected, supported, and able to fully participate in school activities.
