Sept. 21 Panther Weekly Update Posted on September 21, 2026 Hello Panther Families, What a wonderful second week! Our Panthers continue to impress us with their hard work, positive attitudes, and willingness to learn. Staff and students alike are settling into routines, building relationships, and making the most of every day. And the best news? Next week is a full five-day week! 😊 A special thank you to Panther parent Carley White for beginning our Professional Learning Day with an informative session on Anaphylaxis in Schools: What Educators Need to Know. Her expertise, thoughtful guidance, and reassurance were greatly appreciated as we continue to strengthen our understanding and preparedness in supporting students with severe allergies. We are grateful for her time and commitment to helping keep our school community safe. Terry Fox Run, Truth and Reconciliation & Our First Assembly On Thursday, September 24, we will come together for our first school-wide assembly and our Terry Fox activities. As we learn about the legacy of Terry Fox and prepare for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, our September character focus is Courage. Courage can take many forms. Terry Fox showed courage through perseverance, determination, and selflessness in the face of tremendous challenges. Courage is also an important part of Truth and Reconciliation. It takes courage to learn about difficult truths, listen to the experiences of others, reflect on our own understanding, and take action toward reconciliation. At KPES, our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation extends throughout the year. As part of the Calls to Action, we recognize Wabanaki Wednesdays with a Land Acknowledgement and a learning fact shared during morning announcements each week. Indigenous perspectives, resources, and teachings are incorporated throughout the school year and are a particular focus during September. We hope to see many Panthers and their families there! PSSC Meeting Interested in learning more about our school and how families can help support student success? Our first PSSC meeting will take place: Wednesday, September 237:00-8:00 p.m. New members are always welcome. School Photos Don’t forget to log in and view your child’s school photos. If your child missed photo day, or if you would like photo retakes, they are scheduled for October 6. Estey Art Program The Estey Art Program begins on Monday, September 21 for registered students in Grades 3-5. A special thank you to Mrs. Shaw for generously allowing students to use her classroom space for the program. Outdoor Physical Education Physical Education classes will be taking place outdoors next week whenever possible. Please help students come prepared with weather-appropriate clothing and footwear so they can fully participate and enjoy being active outside. Hot Lunch Update We have been informed that we should be ready to launch very soon and hope to receive those details on Monday. Our fingers are crossed!
