May 19th Panther Weekly Update Posted on May 19, 2026 Dear Panther Families, It’s been another joyful and engaging week at Kennebecasis Park Elementary. Here are a few highlights and what’s ahead: 🌈 Pride Week at KPESWe had a wonderful ASD‑S Pride Week, celebrating being ourselves, showing kindness, and recognizing that our diversity makes us stronger as a community. 🗳️ Student VoteStudents took part in the Student Vote alongside the recent municipal election. Thank you to Mrs. Klohn and her Grade 3 class for organizing the event and running the polling stations. Students learned about candidates and their ideas before casting their votes—future civic leaders in the making! 🌲 Outdoor Learning & Classroom HighlightsAll classes participated in outdoor math learning with district coaches this week, showing how learning in varied environments and with natural materials can deepen understanding. 🫀 Grade 5 Students also explored the circulatory system through hands‑on learning, including a real‑life look at how the heart works using a cow’s heart. Thank you, Ms. Goodine, Mr. Morrison, and our guest RN, Emma Stephen! 🎨 We also saw wonderful creativity outdoors, including Mrs. Rioux and Moore’s buddy art project using natural materials to create beautiful “worm’s‑eye view” sky paintings—messy, creative, and impressive work!🔍 In the classroom, Mrs. Brown’s students impressed us with their work on categorizing and comparing objects—nothing better than hearing Kindergarten and Grade 1 students confidently explain what an “attribute” is! ❤️ Jump Rope for HeartThank you to Mrs. Gray for leading this year’s campaign. Many of you may have seen us outside this afternoon skipping together—we had a great time staying active while supporting a meaningful cause! If your child forgot to bring in their envelope, we’re happy to accept it next week. 📅 Important Dates May 18 (Monday) — No school (Victoria Day) May 20 (Wednesday) — Grade 5 Math Assessment begins May 23 (Saturday) — PTA Spring Fling, 1:00–3:00 PM May 29 (Friday) — Kindergarten Orientation Day(Current Kindergarten students do not attend. If you have a chance this weekend, please take a look. Try not to worry—it’s very common, especially in an elementary school. Once treated, students can return to school, and you can continue removing nits at home. 💛 Thank YouAs always, thank you for your continued support and partnership. KPES is a special place because of the care and connection shared by our students, staff, and families. Wishing you a wonderful long weekend,Melissa 🐾
