April 20th Panther Weekly Update Posted on April 20, 2026 Dear Panther Families, Learning, curiosity, and care continue to thrive at Kennebecasis Park Elementary, and we’re excited to share a few highlights and upcoming events with you. 🌱 Spring Learning in ActionSpring energy is alive throughout our school! Students have been deeply engaged in hands‑on, meaningful learning—from Grade 1 & 4 Buddy rocket launches and grade 5 outdoor math scavenger hunts, to reading buddies across grades and grade 3 creative literacy projects underway with plans to publish. I could go on and on! We’ve also seen incredible compassion from our students, including the creation of a “baby worm hospital” 🪱 and a moss snail habitat 🐌—a beautiful reminder that curiosity and kindness grow together at KPES. 🌍 Earth Day – Wednesday, April 22We will be celebrating Earth Day on Wednesday. Our KPES Earth Rangers will be sharing daily announcements for the week, and classes will take part in a school‑wide litter clean‑up around our school grounds and the nearby community to show how much we care for the land, earth, and sky. 💃🏾 African Dance Workshop – Tuesday, April 21Students will participate in an African Dance workshop during the school day, enjoying movement, music, and cultural learning joyfully and engagingly. 🎭 Spring Concert – Save the Date!Our Spring Concert will take place on Wednesday, June 11.To support seating and parking, we plan to hold two performances: Show 1: 9:30–10:30 Show 2: 12:00–1:00 More details will be shared as we get closer to the date. 📬 Bi‑Weekly Family UpdateOur next bi‑weekly curricular update will be sent out on Monday morning, April 20th. 📚 Grade 4 Reading AssessmentsGrade 4 Reading Assessments will take place from April 24–30. Teachers will communicate any class‑specific details directly with families as needed. 🎉 School‑Wide AssemblyOur monthly school‑wide assembly on Friday, April 30, with the theme “optimism,” will also be our Jump Rope for Heart kick-off and Earth Day recap. Please remind Panthers to wear black & gold. 📅 Important Dates May 1 and May 4: No School for Students (staff union meetings and professional learning) May 23: PTA Annual Spring Fling — time change: now 1:00–3:00 PM June 5: Maker Fair Grades 4–5 will be our makers, with K–3 students invited as shoppers. Children can shop for jewellery for the special people in their lives, with all items $1. 🎭 Former KPES Panthers on Stage!Rothesay High School is presenting Matilda the Musical from April 23–25. Many cast and crew members are former KPES students—we hope our families will come out to support them!(See previously shared poster for full details.) 💜 Relay for Life – Rothesay High SchoolThe RHS Relay for Life will take place on Saturday, May 16, from 10:00 AM–6:00 PM at Rothesay Commons. This community event supports cancer research through the Canadian Cancer Society.
