April 7-10 panther weekly update

Dear KPES Families,

As we head into the long Easter weekend, I’d like to take a moment to say thank you. It’s been a joyful, busy, and memorable stretch at Kennebecasis Park Elementary, and we are so grateful for your continued support and partnership.

🌟 Report Cards & Parent–Teacher Conferences
Thank you to all of our families who connected with us during report card time and parent–teacher conferences. These conversations are so important, and we truly value the opportunity to work together in support of your children’s learning and well‑being.
If you’re stopping by the school again soon, please take a moment to check out our Lost & Found—there are lots of items still looking for their way home!

🎭 April Fools’ Fun at KPES

April Fool’s Day brought laughter from start to finish at KPES! From teachers riding the bus, to students switching classrooms, to teachers briefly “abandoning” their posts (don’t worry—everything was very much under control 😉), the day was full of surprises and smiles. Three brave Grade 3 students even risked my wrath by offering me “brownies” that turned out to be… brown paper Es. (Well played!) These joyful, playful moments are part of what makes school a place students love—and memories they’ll carry with them long after the joke is over.

🍁 A Very Smoky Maple Sap Confession
If you noticed a burnt smell during parent–teacher conferences, I have a confession to make. Earlier in the week, I managed to burn our collected maple sap entirely to smithereens, filling the entire bottom floor with smoke.
Good thing I got the permanent job before smoking out the school!
The good news is we still have sap available—and I’ve accepted that I cannot be trusted to supervise it properly. If you’d like some to try making syrup at home, please bring a bucket and help yourself!

🌷 Spring Edition of the Panther Pathway
The Spring Edition of the Panther Pathway is filled with fun, family‑friendly activities that celebrate the season—getting outdoors, connecting with one another, creating, reflecting, and making a difference together. It’s a great way to keep learning joyful at home this spring.

💛 With Gratitude
KPES is a special place because of our students, families, and staff working together. Thank you for being such an important part of our “Small School, Big Heart” community.

Wishing you and your family a peaceful, relaxing, and joyful Easter weekend 🐣🌷

Warmly,
Melissa 🐾
